If you have a device that runs on a 12v Battery using DC Direct Current then chances are we will have the replacement battery for your electronic device. With most rechargeable battery operated appliances the battery will wear out at some stage. Most 12 volt batteries have a life of 800-1000 charge and discharge cycles. For some devices such as cordless drills, laptops, mobile phones and radio controlled cars this may be expended within the first year.
For some other devices the battery may last many years before needing replacement. Most older 12volt Battery Technologies used Nickel Cadmium "NiCad" or Nickel Metal Hydride "NiMh" as the chemical reaction to generate voltage. These days most newer and latest technology batteries use Lithium as the element for electrical production. These come in the form of Lithium Polymer "LiPo" and Lithium ion "Li-Ion" along with other newer technologies.
With older Nicad and NiMh batteries it is quite easy to substitute these with universal aftermarket battery cells. However with the Lipo and Lithium ion batteries it is more difficult due to the complex recharging technology and circuits required to maintain charge. In these instances it is better to choice the original equipment manufacturer batteries than universal cells. When new Recharge and Discharge them completely to initiate the full capacity cycle.
The way to know when your 12 volt battery has reached the end of its useful life is to do a simple check with the device and see if it runs for anywhere near the specified runtime outlined from the manufacturer. If the duration is less than 20% of the advertised specification then the battery is expended. Sometimes a good long overnight charge with the device switched off can help, but in many instances when the battery has gotten this level then it has reached the end of its life cycle and must be replaced. Automotive 12 Volt Battery for Cars, Boats, Trucks and Motorcycles
Lead Acid 12 Volt batteries used in your Car, Boat, Truck or Motorcycle come in many different sizes and brand labels. Most commonly they are rated in a term called CCA which is Cold Cranking Amps. This is the amount of Amperage or Current they can discharge on high demand starting requirements when Cold. There are also other terminology used to identify the battery such as terminal positioning number, and whether battery is Regular, Medium or High Performance. For Boat and Marine Applications 12v Batteries need to be of Deep Cycle type to allow deep discharge without destroying the battery.
Marine, Truck and Car 12volt Batteries require maintenance due to water and acid loss through electrolysis in the charging cycle. Most modern designs now provide extra Electrolyte above the plates for replenishment over the life of the battery. Often, these designs do not provide caps to allow access to add water to the cells and are termed Maintenance Free. If your vehicle’s battery has easily detachable caps then you should top up with distilled water every once in a while. We recommend once every six months. It is important to note that you should only used distilled or demineralized water as regular tap water can have mineral content which is detrimental to the battery. Sometimes a combination of Distilled Water and Sulphuric Acid maybe needed to rebalance the battery chemistry for life restoration.
Battery Failure from Corrosion and Rust at the terminals of your battery can prevent your car or boat from starting due to increased electrical resistance of the circuit. The bottom line is that your battery will perform best if it is regularly used, that is, it is exposed to regular charge and discharge cycles. Overcharging or leaving it in a discharged state for too long will decrease the life and performance of your battery.
